Meet Suzanne Leter
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I have 25 years experience providing child therapy. My office is set up in a child-friendly manner with art supplies, play therapy toys, puppets, and costumes. Therapy is a fun and enjoying process for children.
Therapy is a gift that you provide for yourself, your child, or your family. The process of therapy brings clarity to our dreams and aspirations. Therapy brings self-knowledge to our own relationship to ourselves. I work with individuals looking to fundamentally change the way they relate to themselves, so that you can live a more vital and authentic life. If your relationships or life circumstances have you feeling stuck, anxious, lost, or depressed, I can help.
I assist by providing a safe environment and grounded exploration of your strengths, options, challenges and personal needs to assist you in getting back on track. I am good at helping you determine what is under your power to change, what to accept, grieve, what parts of your life you want to develop, or cope with.
Children experience themselves in the here and now. Their language is the process of play, creating art, story-telling, and role-playing. I offer a 50-minute play therapy process with children under the age twelve, which allows them to feel free to bring up sensitive feelings and past experiences. Children learn to identify and talk about their feelings, employ anger management techniques, acknowledge their own basic rights and the rights of others, and understand what motivates their action and choices. Children over 12 resonate with art therapy techniques, creative journaling, and using their verbal skills for self-expression. Kids lead the therapy process in their goal-oriented journey. The sessions are fun and, to many, appear to be the highlight of their week.
